Fire & Emergency Response

The Georgina Island Fire Station is located at the corner of Chief Joseph Snake Road and Hello Road. The station is equipped with a Fort Gary pumper truck, a tanker, a side‑by‑side unit, and an Emergency First Response (EFR) vehicle. Georgina Island First Nation employs one full‑time Fire Chief and a dedicated team of trained volunteer firefighters. Both Fire Services and First Response operate out of the fire hall.
We are always welcoming new volunteers who want to learn, help their neighbours, and make a difference. If you’re interested in exploring a career in emergency services, please reach out to Fire Chief Ian Big Canoe. EFR certification courses are usually offered in both spring and fall.
Together, we keep Georgina Island safe.
