The lacrosse clinic from August 6-9 was a great hit with the Georgina Island youth! Four days of lacrosse skills and fun with up to 17 youth participating! Many thanks to Nancy Lewis, Tracey Sillaby, Susan Lewis and Harrison Sillaby, Coach Chet and all the volunteers who came out to help. A very big thank you to Donna Hori and the Frank H. Hori Charitable Foundation for their generous donation to our program which enabled us to purchase lacrosse equipment, including nets, sticks, helmets, gloves, balls and more!

The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario

As the Crown’s representative in Ontario, the Lieutenant Governor exercises constitutional powers and promotes a strong and positive civic community.

Her Honor visited Georgina Island in August to have  an informal discussion on our community.  Two of our honored elders, Susan Hoeg and Andrew Big Canoe, extended a warm welcome.

Congratulations to Quinn Big Canoe and his team from Chief and Council  for winning the Gold in the World Junior Championships U18!
Quinn played for Team Canada and was an outstanding representative of our country.
 Quinn and his teammates travelled to Mount Pearl Glacier, Newfoundland to play in the 2018 ISBHF Junior World Championships.

We are very proud of Quinn and the sterling example he is to our young people!
